Permanent Hair Removal by Intense Pulsed Light or IPL

in hair removal that's proving to be more effective than any other
method. Studies performed with IPL customers have shown significant
hair removal success along with far less side effects than traditional
laser treatment.
Another tremendous benefit of IPL is that it usually takes less time
than expected to succeed with hair removal. Although the customer
may have several treatments, the process often takes far less time
than traditional laser treatments, saving the customer time and money.
How Does IPL Work?
IPL is actually a non-coherent laser which is used by a technician to
damage unwanted hair follicles. The exposure time frame, energy level
and wavelength can each be selected by the technician for maximum
accuracy. One major benefit of the Intense Pulsed Light is that it
causes very little damage to surrounding tissues when comparing to
traditional laser treatment. After the treatment, you can return to
your normal activities immediately. The targeted hair follicles absorb
the light and are heated, then damaged and epilated (or loosened from
the root). There are normally multiple treatments required. As a
result permanent hair reduction is achieved. Even when hair may grow
back in that spot in some cases, but there won't be near as much hair
as before, and much thinner.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you may require for optimal long-term
benefits depends on the area you wish to have treated, the hair
density and your hair's growth cycle. Your hair grows in cycles and
many factors influence it's growth. Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones,
diet, medication and metabolism all play a part in your hair's location,
thickness and resilience.
IPL slows the growing capacity of follicles in the growth cycle at the
time of the treatment. Since some hair follicles may enter their
growth cycle after your treatment, four to six treatments may be
required to deliver optimal results.
